On November 11, the Phase II Project of Tianjin Port Holdings Co.,Ltd. received approval from the Tianjin Development and Reform Commission and the Binhai New Area Administrative Examination and Approval Bureau. This marks significant progress in the preliminary work of this key municipal project.

The Phase II Project plans to construct three 70,000-ton coal-loading berths and one 200,000-ton ore-unloading berth. It will also include the development of 18 coal silos and two strip warehouses. Once completed, the project is designed to handle 35 million tons of coal and 18 million tons of ore annually, with a total investment of approximately 6.1 billion RMB. This development will greatly enhance Tianjin Port's coal and ore throughput capacity, establishing a benchmark for smart and green bulk cargo terminals in the region and strengthening the integrated industrial chain of CHN Energy.

Located in Tianjin’s Binhai New Area, Tianjin Port Holdings Co.,Ltd. serves as a key hub in the Bohai Economic Rim. It is approximately 170 kilometers north of Beijing, 66 kilometers west of Tianjin's urban center, and 110 kilometers south of Huanghua Port. Coal from Shenhua Energy’s primary Shendong mining areas is transported to the port via the Shenshuo, Shuohuang and Huangwan railways, along with Tianjin's local railway, covering a total distance of about 893 kilometers.

The Phase I Project was completed and officially put into operation on September 27, 2007, following national acceptance. It added 35 million tons of coal handling capacity to the port. With the addition of new rail unloading facilities, the Phase I Project’s capacity was further increased by 10 million tons, reaching a total of 45 million tons. Upon the completion of the Phase II Project, the annual export of Shenhua coal from Tianjin Port is expected to reach 80 million tons.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of CHN Energy, CHN Energy Port Co., Ltd. oversees the management of the Group’s port operations. The company plans to gradually integrate 31 captive power plant ports and 80 berths under its jurisdiction, with an expected annual throughput capacity of 500 million tons. The advancement of the Phase II Project will further enhance the resilience of CHN Energy's integrated industrial chain, accelerate the integration of ports, industries and cities, and provide reliable support for coordinated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
