CHN Energy Dadu River Company Applied Smart Irrigation in Arid Slopes
CHN Energy Dadu River Company decided to establish a farm-tourism integration industrial park in Hongjunshhu Village, Puge County, as part of its efforts to support the development of characteristic agriculture in ethnic minority areas. The project started construction in August 2021 and was completed in July 2022, lasting for 12 months covering an area of 600 mu (about 0.4 square kilometers).
In the Daliang Mountains, precision drip irrigation technology is used in the industrial park, and water is slowly and evenly dripped into the crop root soil through a pipeline system and dedicated equipment. This drip irrigation technology saves 33% water compared to sprinkler irrigation and over 80% compared to furrow irrigation. An intelligent water and fertilizer integrated irrigation system has been established in the fields, which scientifically controls the water-fertilizer mixing ratio and arranges the water and fertilizer irrigation time reasonably. Compared with traditional fertilization, it saves about 50% of fertilizers.
Relying on the intelligent system, the Internet of Things （IoT） platform automatically monitors and collects IoT data related to crop production, such as air temperature and humidity, soil temperature and humidity, etc., according to the actual situation of the industrial park and the precipitation and evaporation at that time. The system deploys irrigation instructions in the cloud platform, and the progress can be operated and checked on mobile phones and computers at any time.
The establishment of the industrial park has brought more benefits to the Yi people in the local area. At present, 206 local villagers have obtained benefits as shareholders, and the village receives more than 200,000 yuan in land circulation rent from the industrial park annually. More than 20 people have participated in fruit tree management and achieved stable employment, with a monthly income of RMB 1,500 to 2,000.
